Field Practical Training to 14 Sokoine University of Agriculture Students.

For 4 weeks (March 7, 2022, to April 8, 2022), 14 Sokoine University of Agriculture students who are in their 2nd year pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Community Development did Field Practical Training at Youth Power Organization. YPO has equipped these students with workforce readiness skills of which 80% covered on-hand field skills and 20% administration skills.

YPO’s Field Practical Training Curriculum is designed in a way that it aligns with universities studying curricula and the current market demanded skills.

Students were exposed to workforce readiness skills including digital literacy, employment seeking tactics, an approach how to identifying and solving farmers’ problems and challenges, sustainable project planning and execution, community sensitization, and raising awareness of communities in environmental conservation.

Furthermore, students were linked with Red Cross in Morogoro to perform community health interventions (HIV/AIDS education, education on the COVID-19 pandemic, and organizing blood donation campaigns).

On the commencement day, Students were awarded FPT completion certificates and recommendation letters to support access to job opportunities.
