The main objective of the event was to evaluate the progress of NGO operations over the past five years (2020 to 2025), with a specific focus on achievements, challenges, opportunities, and future prospects.
The meeting was graced by the Guest of Honor, Honorable, Adam Malima, Morogoro Regional Commissioner, who led the discussions on strengthening partnerships between NGOs and the government to foster sustainable community development.

Event Highlights
The meeting brought together Morogoro NGOs, International NGOs, government officials, donors, private sectors, and mass media. The event featured an exhibition segment where organizations showcased their products and services, allowing participants to network and learn from one another.

In addition to exhibitions, organizations presented their work to one another for mutual beneficial partnership.
A key highlight of the event was an in-depth discussion session between NGO representatives and the Regional Commissioner. The dialogue focused on how NGOs and the regional government can collaborate effectively to address community challenges and drive regional development.
Key Remarks from the Regional Commissioner

During his keynote speech, Honorable, Adam Malima emphasized the critical role of NGOs in Morogoro’s development, stating:
“You may struggle to find another political leader in this region who values NGOs as much as I do. I urge you all to remain committed to promoting peace rather than contributing to unrest. As the regional government, we stand ready to work shoulder-to-shoulder with you in solving community challenges. I encourage NGOs to focus on sustainability in their initiatives.”
Honorable, Adam Malima
Regional Commissioner, Morogoro.
He further outlined four crucial strategies for NGO sustainability:
- Operate with integrity and ensure that projects leave lasting positive impacts within the community.
- Involve grassroots government leaders including village chairpersons, ward officers, community development officers, and other local officials during project implementation.
- Establish income-generating activities to strengthen financial independence and ensure organizational continuity.
- Join both local and international networks to foster collaboration and learn from more established organizations.

Hon. Adam Malima emphasized that partnerships between NGOs and the government are essential for community development.
Recognition & Awards
As the meeting drew to a close, the Morogoro Regional Government, in collaboration with NaCoNGOs , presented certificates of appreciation and recognition to active NGOs for their significant contributions to the region.

Among the honored organizations was Youth Power Organization (YPO), which has been acknowledged for four consecutive years as one of the most impactful youth-led NGOs in Morogoro.
