Thanks to Save the Children, the YPO team and board members were introduced to the principles of safeguarding, accountability, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). This session was part of the implementation of the Vijana Plus project.

The training enhanced YPO’s understanding of how to protect children and youth, establish effective community accountability and transparency systems, and improve M&E skills to achieve better project outcomes.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Ayub Kayombo, a MEAL/PDQ staff member at Save the Children.

Mr. Kayombo appreciated YPO’s collaborative spirit and noted the presence of established safeguarding policies, monitoring, and evaluation systems.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Save the Children provided accountability and safeguarding learning materials to ensure that YPO team members remain focused on what they learnt and update each other at least once a month.
